Avast, me hearties! Set your sails toward YMCA Trout Lodge for our Captain Nemo themed weeks. Enjoy a ride on our Pirate Pontoons or search for buried treasure with our under water-themed geocaching treasure hunt! Cast your sails on Sunnen Lake or for you landlubbers try a land based game of Capture the Treasure Chest.
Karen LaFever from the North High Science Department will be teaching fun, water-themed science experiments during this Sci-Fi/Water-themed weekend.
Are you smarter than a mermaid? Could you recognize the creatures that live in our oceans? Come play Ocean Trivia and test your skills against others in this fun and informative game.
Come meet our mystery guest and figure out where he lives- hint: it is somewhere within the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea! Then use our variety of materials to design and sculpt different animals that could survive in the weird world of water.
You’ll be a salty sea dog after ye’ try yer hand at sailin’! Check out a sailboat at the Trout Lodge Boathouse and ye’ll be settin’ sail for the high seas and be in shipshape!
Geocaching Treasure Hunt
Geocachin’ be for landlubbers with GPS units. In addition to our regular courses, ye’ can do a special Treasure Hunt course. Ye’ must attend an orientation before gittin’ the GPS equipment from the Front Desk.
Aye, it's time t'give those other Trout Lodge pirates a taste o' their own medicine! Set sail on t' Pirate Pontoon and launch water six pounders at t' opposin' team. Two pontoon pirate ships will pass each other on Sunnen Lake, givin' t' pirate on board each pontoon t' opportunity t' spray t' pirates on t' opposite pontoon with water six pounders.
By the powers of ye lads and lasses lend yer hand in making the largest bubble ever. You be impressin’ those mer people and stunning your mates with bubbles yer normally likely to only see under the sea!
Capture the Treasure Chest
Think you be the best plunderer on land or sea? In this pirate-themed version of Capture the Flag you’ll compete against other salty dogs to see who can capture the other teams’ treasure!
Fireworks (Due to dry weather and increased fire hazards, fireworks displays may be canceled.)
Argh! That’s not cannon fire you hear o’er the lake, it’s our weekly summer fireworks show! Watch from your room or meet us on the back deck of Trout Lodge as you watch in awe. Fireworks Cruises will be available for $1, but space is limited so please sign up at the Country Store.
