Brie Romere
Nickname: Sacagawea
Hometown: Kingwood, TX
Age: 22
University: University of Missouri
Major: Journalism
How long I've been at Lakewood: 4th year
Sports/Hobbies: Softball, volleyball, basketball, singing, and attempting to play guitar.
Why I chose to work at Lakewood this summer: It's the most wonderful place I've ever been to, aside from Texas. It's beautiful, the staff is incredible, and the children give life a whole new meaning.
My dream job: Story editor for a reality show.
Future career: Same as my dream job.
How I chose my nickname: It was given to me by my friends for my keen sense of direction.
The best part about camp/kids: The best part about kids is their unbelievable outlook on life. They are carefree, imaginative, and say some of the funniest things I've ever heard in my life. Knowing that you could possibly make a difference in their lives makes it all worth it.
One thing I hope to experience this summer is: I hope to grow personally as well as give the kids an opportunity to try something they never thought they could do.
One thing children will remember most about me: My sweet choreography, especially my line dancing steps.
My favorite food, animal, song, book or movie: My favorite animals are black and tan coon hounds because I grew up with them. They're smart and sassy. My favorite movie is Free Willy because it's just a fantastic, artistic artifact from my childhood.
A quote or phrase that best represents me: "The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning." - Mitch Albom
