Johanna Aholm

Nickname: Storm
Hometown: Gothenburg, Sweden
Age: 20
How long I've been at Lakewood: 2nd year
Sports/Hobbies: I have danced and done aerobics since I was little and absolutely love it. I also like to read and I listen to music a lot.
Why I chose to work at Lakewood this summer: I worked at Camp Lakewood last summer and it was one of the best summers ever. You can be yourself at camp and it is so easy to make new friends for life.
My dream job: To be a normal girl by day and a superhero by night
Future career: I am about to start studying human resources at a university in Sweden, so I hope that one day I'll be in charge of human resources at a big company.
How I chose my nickname: I love X-Men, which is originally a comic, but it has been made into several movies too. Storm is a character that controls the weather and her purpose is to use her powers for good and not evil. That's why I chose Storm for my camp name.
The best part about camp/kids: You get to know new people and everyone is open to making new friends. I think that's why so staff and kids return. Working with kids is one of the most exciting jobs there is because you never get bored and no day is like another.
One thing I hope to experience this summer is: Spelunking, somehow I missed out on every opportunity for that last year so I really need to make sure that I get to explore and get muddy in the caves this summer.
One thing children will remember most about me: The way I do the cheers-with lots of energy, joy and craziness.
My favorite food, animal, song, book or movie: The best books ever written are, of course, the Harry Potter books. They are so fun to read and you almost feel like you are in Harry's world when you read them. Anything my mom or dad cooks is tasty and delicious. I am going to miss their food this summer.
A quote or phrase that best represents me: "You can't stay in your corner of the forest waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes." -Winnie the Poo. I love this quote because it's all about having the courage to step outside your comfort zone.
