YMCA Trout Lodge & Camp Lakewood will put Christian principles into...

Lindsey Cavanaugh

Nickname: Sunshine
Hometown: St.Louis, Missouri
Age: 18
University: University of Missouri Columbia
Major: Photojournalism
How long I've been at Lakewood: 1st year
Sports/Hobbies: Music, cooking, photography, roadtrips, writing, and being with my friends and family. I'll be teaching kayaking, drama, and friedship bracelets as well as being one of the two camp photographers!
Why I chose to work at Lakewood this summer: I've always wanted to be a camp counselor and Lakewood came into my life at the perfect time.
My dream job: My dream job would be a photographer for a magazine or some organization where I can travel the world. Then I saw the movie Freedom Writers and becoming a High School English Teacher is sometimes a thought of mine.
Future career: Only time will tell!
How I chose my nickname: Walkin' on Sunshine is one of my favorite songs!
The best part about camp/kids: The best part is being in an enviornment where everyone is striving to do great things for other people, that's big in my book.
One thing I hope to experience this summer is: making a lot of great memories.
One thing children will remember most about me: My goofy personality.
My favorite food, animal, song, book or movie: I love smoothies and my favorite book is The Five People you Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom.
A quote or phrase that best represents me:
"The world's a roller coaster and I am not strapped in. Maybe I should hold with care, but my hands are busy in the air."-Incubus
“We've got to learn hard things in our lifetime, but it's love that gives you the strength. It's being nice to people and having a lot of fun and laughing harder than anything, hopefully every single day of your life.”
-Drew Barrymore
