Get Up & Get Going!

May is National Fitness Month! With the dawning of the warmer weather and longer days, it’s the perfect time to get outside and get moving. Here are some of our favorite ways to get fit! Dancing Put on your favorite tunes and go crazy! Make up your own dance moves. Dance with a buddy. Dance in your front yard. Dance in your living room. Dance like no one is watching. Or dance like everyone is watching! There are no rules in dancing, as long as you keep moving. Walking We love walking because it’s easy, requires little training and you can do it with a friend! Set small goals for yourself and walk a little further each day. Walking with a friend will help you regulate your breathing, pace yourself and you’ll be able to kill two birds with one stone—time with your pals and getting exercise! Running Like walking, but faster. Grab a bottle of water and a good playlist and hit the trails! You could even listen to an audio book to make the time fly. Sports The great thing about sports is the variety in numbers! There are solo sports (like running) or you could get a whole group of people together for a pick=up game of basketball, soccer or even baseball! Hiking If you’re in need of a place to hike, come visit us! We have gorgeous trails and tons of land. We’re close enough for a day trip from St. Louis (but we are fun enough for an extended stay!) Whatever you choose, just make an effort to be fit this month! Remember, progress happens one day at a time.
