Sacagawea Continues To Explore
As my time at YMCA Trout Lodge and Camp Lakewood comes to a close, I want to thank everyone for an amazing five years.
This blog surfaced as a means for MelG and I to illustrate why we work here. It really is impossible to explain how this place can positively change lives in a few sentences. We believe that if we can write about the everyday miracles that happen here, you might get an understanding of the spirit among everyone who works here to accomplish the mission of the YMCA.
I have spent five years working at Trout Lodge and Camp Lakewood. It changed my life. I had just finished my freshman year of college, majoring in Strategic Communication, but I didn’t know what to do with my degree. One summer at Camp Lakewood set off the light bulb in my head: nonprofit marketing.
I have enjoyed every minute of working here. It is now my time to spread my wings. Today marks my last day, as I am moving into a Director-level position at a St. Louis YMCA. I will continue to serve the community with the talent and education I am fortunate to have.
MelG will continue to communicate everyday life via this blog. Look for growth in how Trout Lodge and Camp Lakewood communicate. There will be some really cool videos and other media coming through YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. Stayed tuned to the blog to keep in the loop!
