Spring Fling

April 23-25, 2010

Bring in Spring with all the best activities Trout Lodge has to offer! Archery, horseback riding, riflery, climbing, arts and crafts, astronomy, campfire songs and skits, and karaoke night! You can even jump over to our nearby nine-hole golf course for a few rounds. Get out and get adventurous.

Friday, April 23 – Evening Programs
7:00 p.m. - Twilight Boat Float

Relax for the evening on a twilight cruise around beautiful Sunnen Lake while you enjoy a yummy root beer foat. Cost is $1 per person. (Space is limited, so be sure to sign up at the Country Store.)

7:30 p.m. - Campfire
Join our staff at the Coker Fire Ring for some silly songs and zany skits that are fun for all ages. If you participate, you'll even get a tasty s'more at the end.

8:30 p.m. - Astronomy
What better place than Trout Lodge to see all the stars in the beautiful night sky? Meet our staff on the Tennis Courts to learn about stars, comets, planets and more.

Saturday, April 24 - Special Activities
9:00 a.m. - Geocaching

Join one of our program staff at the North Valley Fire Ring to learn this modern day treasure hunt. Your instructor will show you how to program your hand-held GPS unit and take you on a trail course. If you'd like to check out a GPS unit to try your hand at some of the courses around property, please see the Trout Lodge Front Desk.

1:00 p.m. - Rock Polishing
Join our staff in Meeting Room 5 to polish any rock that you find interesting. Choose from a variety of rocks, and watch the rock change from one phase to another. You can use different polishing sheets to change the form as well as pull all the colors to the top, making the rock shine. You'll be amazed at how pretty rocks can be when the dirt's been scrubbed away. Cost is $5 per person. (Space is limited, so please sign up at the Country Store.)

4:00 p.m. - Nature Hike
Meet your trail guide in the 4th Floor Lobby to take a one-mile scenic hike through some of the prettiest wood areas Trout Lodge has to offer.
(Trail maps are available at the Front Desk if you'd like to go for a nature hike at a different time. We recommend groups of three people when hiking.)

Saturday, April 24 – Evening Program
7:30 p.m. - Nature Center Puppet Show Join our staff at the Nature Center to learn abut and maybe even touch snakes, lizards, spiders, hedgehogs, rabbits and other critters. After seeing all the animals, our staff will entertain you with a puppet show designed to teach you a little more about the world around us.

Sunday, April 25
8:30 a.m. Sunday Service

Join us in a non-denominational morning service lead by chaplain Mark Boyster. Music for the service will be provided by Alison Boyster.

9:00 a.m. - Rock Polishing

Rifle Bowling
Try your hand at a fun and challenging game of Rifle Bowling. You can challenge yourself or a friend or family member. We recommend that you attend a basic rifle session before signing up for this activity.
(Must be 10 years of age or older to participate. 11 and under must be accompanied by an adult. This class is not recommended for first time shooters. Space is limited, so please sign up at the Country Store.)
