World's Largest Mashmallow Roast at YMCA
YMCA of the Ozarks will be joining over 50 different YMCA camps nationwide during the World’s Largest Marshmallow Roast on July 21, 2011 at 3 p.m. YMCA of the Ozarks guests, campers, and the public are encouraged to be a part of this world-record setting event. Marshmallow roast participants will be taking part in the biggest marshmallow roast that has ever been attempted.
“Day and resident camps from Y’s of Canada and USA are invited to make history this summer by joining the World's Largest Marshmallow Roast. The event has been pre-approved by Guinness to be a world record,” according to Bryon Parsons of YMCA of Boulder Valley.
Parsons explains that the, “time has been selected to permit simultaneous involvement nationwide, so for west coast camps it will be an after lunch activity and for east coast camps a before dinner or end of day camp event. The World's Largest Marshmallow Roast Facebook page explains the event details, and allows YMCA camps to register and post photos of the event.”
Washington County residents are invited to participate in this program at no charge. For residents who would like to stay for the day, Trout Lodge Day Passes can be purchased for $20 per adult and $10 per child. Day passes include all day use of facilities and one meal in the Trout Lodge Dining Room. Residents should stop by the Trout Lodge Front Desk by 2:15p.m. to register to participate in this program.
The YMCA of the Ozarks, a family and corporate retreat center and residential summer camp, sits on 5,000 acres of Missouri’s Eastern Ozarks on beautiful Sunnen Lake. Together, YMCA Trout Lodge and YMCA Camp Lakewood are the YMCA of the Ozarks.
