368 Locals Celebrated Labor Day at the Y
YMCA Trout Lodge and Camp Lakewood was very pleased with the outstanding turnout for their first “Community Appreciation Day” on Monday, September 5th. Guests participated in free activities ranging from archery, geocaching, and fishing to high adventure activities such as climbing the 50 foot Alpine Tower and Summit Course – one of the largest high ropes courses in the Midwest.
“A special thanks goes out to the many local businesses and organizations who helped spread the word about this exciting opportunity to thank the citizens of Washington County for their continued support”, says Cindy Rea, Director of Sales & Conference at the YMCA of the Ozarks.
This special invitation was extended to all Washington County residents, but word traveled quickly and many came from neighboring communities such as Farmington, St. Louis, and Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Hamburgers and hot dogs were available for lunch, but most toted picnic lunches and relaxed on the beautiful grounds overlooking Sunnen Lake.
44 families visited the facility for the first time, building memories that will last a lifetime.
