Hawkins Family Program Pavilion Dedication
Thanks to the generosity of Ted & Doris Hawkins, this much-needed program space was designed and constructed to meet the needs of families and to serve as the hub of guest program areas. This 42ft x 80ft handicapped-accessible space is ideal for many outdoor programs, protecting from both the hot summer sun and inclement weather. The outdoor fireplace will still allow for campfires and s’mores when it rains. The pavilion is also just the place for corporate groups and family reunions requesting a chuck wagon dinner in a protected area while still outdoors.
Board Member, Jim Weaver, donated the supporting cedar posts from his nearby farm. They were harvested, hauled and prepared by our maintenance staff. Dave DeGonia Construction meticulously completed the project using local suppliers.
The Hawkins Family Program Pavilion was dedicated on August 28, 2008. Ted & Doris Hawkins were surrounded by many family members and friends, including staff from YMCA of the Ozarks and the YMCA Corporate Office.
