New Nature Center Offers a Fun and Interactive Learning Experience
The Nature Center had its grand opening March 6-8, 2009. The newly constructed building houses several animals and reptiles, along with interactive and educational displays.
A giant puppet wall is used to put on skits that teach about nature while entertaining guests at the same time. Kids can make a sketch of a butterfly and other insects at the sketch table, or have a nature-themed story read to them in our reading corner.
Guests can also learn by using their sense of touch when they visit a hands-on table sprinkled with real animal fur and turtle shells, or dare to reach their hand in our covered learning displays to guess what’s inside. Raymond, the resident bunny, is also seen hopping around for guests to pet.
Whether you are a school group or a family down for the weekend, the new Nature Center provides a great time with lots of interesting ways to learn about the world in which we live. To see photos, click here!
