You and your young learner will grow closer while you participate in great, fun activities, at YMCA Trout Lodge, a family camp/conference center in the foothills of the eastern Ozarks. Begin by learning about rocks and minerals, and then head off into some of the world's largest granite boulders. Enjoy a campfire with s'mores and other activities, and get comfortable riding a horse in our arena before heading out on a trail ride through hardwood forests.

Mysteries, Histories and Life on the Frontier

Enjoy riveting local history and work together to solve a murder mystery game. Take an amazing a tour of the Bonne Terre Mines (voted one of top 100 destinations), which includes a pontoon boat ride in an underground lake (yes, underground - way cool!). Relive the past as you participate in blacksmithing, candle-making, Dutch oven cooking over an open fire and so much more. Take a trip to Mermamec Caverns and enjoy an ice cream social.

Set amidst thousands of acres of forest-covered hills, a pristine lake and near one of America’s most remarkable underground playgrounds (Bonne Terre Mines), Trout Lodge is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise in the Ozarks. Join the staff to experience the natural history of the area on a hike, canoe Sunnen Lake and learn about aquatic ecology, try your hand at archery or riflery, and take a pontoon ride on an underground lake.
