Triangle Y Ranch

One of the most unique aspects of a trip to Trout Lodge or Camp Lakewood is our working horse ranch. Don't miss the opportunity for a new adventure on horseback! Trails are designed to delight both the first-time rider and the experienced horseman. Year-round programs, a variety of trail rides and horse overnights are all offered at the ranch. We have over 60 horses as well as professional full-time wranglers.

Valley Trail Ride
A one-mile ride designed to show off our beautiful hardwood forest. The trail winds through the peaceful forest and crosses through the Fourché Renault Creek. Ride is approximately 30 minutes (depending on the size of the group). Cost: $12 per person. Requirements: ages 7+ and 44" tall. Children ages 7-9 must be accompanied by an adult (someone who is 18+). Weight limit of 250 lbs. No double riders.

Mountain Trail Ride
A two-mile scenic trail that will take you up the Grainger diggings and down past the Hawkins' Mines area. This ride offers fantastic views of the lake and is approximately 50 minutes (depending on the size of the group).
Cost: $18 per person. Requirements: ages 10+ and 54" tall. Weight limit of 250 lbs. No double riders.

Bluff Trail Ride
A two-and-a-half to three-hour ride (depending on size of group) along the trails and logging roads that lead to the bluffs. Once you arrive at the bluffs, dismount and take in the beautiful views, then mount up again for the ride back to the ranch. Cost: $30 per person. Requirements: ages 10+ and 54" tall. Children under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult (someone who is 18+). Weight limit of 250 lbs. No double riders. Maximum of 12 people. This ride will only be scheduled by special arrangement.

Pony Rides
A great introduction to horseback riding for children who have never ridden, or who are not old enough to ride with us on the trails. Cost: $2.50 per child. Requirements: Must be under 10 years old and accompanied by an adult (someone who is 18+). Weight limit of 150 lbs. No double riders.

Hayride
A lovely wagon ride down our country roads flanked by the Fourché Renault Creek. Cost: $4 per person; lap riders (ages 3 & under) are free. Ride lasts approximately 30 minutes. Requirements: All ages are welcome. Children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult (someone who is 18+). Limit of 25 people per wagon.

Carriage Ride
Enjoy a relaxing, 20 minute ride in an old-style carriage pulled by one of our Belgian horses. Pass by Cold Springs, the Pioneer Village and learn about the history of the 100-year-old waterwheel. Cost: $25 per ride. Requirements: All ages are welcome. Children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult (someone who is 18+). Carriage can typically hold at least two adults and three children, depending on the size of the riders.

Meal Rides
Take a two-and-a-half to three-hour trail ride along the trails and logging roads that lead to the Second Cove; an overnight site across Sunnen Lake from the Lodge.

Dismount your horse, take in the beautiful views, and then enjoy a meal prepared for you in Dutch ovens by our cowboys an cowgirls and served under a large outdoor pavilion. After your meal, you’ll saddle up and return to the Triangle Y Ranch. Available as breakfast or dinner only.

Cost: $45 per person. Ages 10+ and 54" tall. Children under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult (someone who is 18+). Weight limit of 250 lbs. No double riders. Maximum of 12 people, Minimum of 6 people. Check activity schedule for available times.
