As kids, new adventures are always around us from the first day of school to the first time you try out for a sports team, every day is a new adventure. As adults, life can sometimes seem a little less adventurous and things start to get put on the “bucket list” instead of the “things I did today” list. At YMCA we love to see our guests try something new for the first time and conquer fears and apprehensions they may not have even known they had! Whether it’s zip lining, doing a ropes course or learning to do archery, we have all kind of adventures to try. If it’s been a while since you’ve tried something new, keep this in mind. Research has shown that doing something you’ve never done before can foster courage and increase your confidence. Not only will you then have the memory, but you’ll also have a sense of satisfaction that you did something you possibly didn’t think you could do.
